Meet Our Volunteers.

The Alpine Outdoor Association loves and appreciates our volunteers! For the last two years, these people have assisted in many tasks to help with our efforts of education about safe and responsible recreation in Hinsdale County! We look forward to working with this team in the years to come. If you would like to be a volunteer, contact us for more information.

Mike Harrington

As a retired Army veteran I find AOA to be a worthwhile organization to volunteer time in.
To provide education and safety to fellow outdoor enthusiasts is just right in the Lake City environment.

I have called Lake City home for 3 years now,  and AOA helped me when I was learning the San Juan lifestyle.
Just helping others in need provides satisfaction for volunteers.

Mark Zeckser

After vacationing in Lake City for many years, I became addicted to the Lake City way of life. I served as an Oklahoma City Metro Fire Fighter for over 32 years and public service was always my passion. I became active with the AOA because of my belief in the concept of promoting Lake City’s Alpine connection. I was blessed to become a deputy sheriff here in Hinsdale County and serve as the Alpine Ranger as one of my many duties. Making a change is what public servants strive to do and doing this keeps me excited to serve!

First visited LC in 2017, did three-week rentals 2018 in 2019, bought house late 2019. David and wife Ricki live in Tulsa, OK seven months a year, LC four months summer/fall and one month in winter (usually Feb). I usually do 700-800 miles of motorcycle off-road riding each summer/fall. Mechanical engineer, retired from technology industry.

Roxanne Loper

My family has been coming to Lake City for about 10 years.  We have rental homes and apartments in town.

Being involved in the community is important to me:  I work and volunteer for the Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center.  I also believe in keeping the community open to OHV’s, so I enjoy giving my time to the AOA. I spend about 6mos a year here, but am hoping to make it even more in the future!

Terry Enos

Terry is awesome, but hasn’t given us much to write about so we will update you on this wonderful person as soon as we can!

Roy Shaw

Just like Terry, Roy is being shy. Check back for updates soon!

Been here 7 years.   I am a member of the Old West Shooters.  I’m also on the boards of the Medical Center  Lake City Arts and the Alpine Outdoor Association.  Retired and manage a family farm in old Mexico.  Also take donated clothes, furniture and appliances to the people around the family farm and nearby city.

Sharon Rogers

20 years National Wine Buyer for World Market, 4 years Bank President with Community Banks of Colorado. I first came to Lake City 19 years ago and immediately fell in love with the town. I bought property during that trip and built my first house. I have lived here full time since 2014. During this time, I have volunteered at the local school, Wee Care, Lake City Old West Shooters, Wine and Music Festival and the Alpine Outdoor Assoc. Met and married the love of my life, Ben Redler in Lake City. We now split our time each year between Lake City, Rockdale TX and David City NE.

Ben Redler

After flunking retirement 4 times, I finally got it and have been staying in Lake City during the summers for over 15 years. Before that I worked in the technology service and consulting arena with IBM, Dell, Technology Service solutions and was COO at Critical Connection. In retirement, I mostly volunteer and prefer being outdoors.
